2-11 CAUBRATION PROCEDURE FOR AVA TEST SET (P/N 29313102)

The Electronic Test Set generates a set of signals which correspond to an imaginary four bladed helicopter. The rotor
description and setup files are contained in the script files INITCAL. The CAL scripts can be modified by the user to
support any particular combination of accelerometers, trackers and tachos.
To verify calibration of the DAU the following hardware is required:
a.
DAU (P/N 29328201)
b.
CADU (PIN 29314102)
c.
Electronic Test Set (PIN 29085800)
d.
External 28 Vdc power source
e.
IBM PC (or compatible) with DOS Version 3.3 or higher and an RS-232 port
f.
RS-232 cable (P/N 28130802) with adapter (PIN 28130801) (supplied with the AVA)
g.
RADSCOM diskette (PIN 29725200) (supplied with the AVA)
h.
INITCAL diskette (PIN 29304200) (supplied with the Electronic Test Set)

Printer (Recommended)

PROGRAM THE CADU
(a)
Connect the CADU to the PC using the RS-232 cable (P/N 28130802) from CADU RS-232 port (9-
pin connector) to the PC RS-232 port. You may or may not need the gender changer (DB25F to
DB25F, part number 28130800) and/or the RS-232 adapter (DB25M to DB9F, part number
28130801) depending upon the configuration of your PC.
(b)
Install RADSCOM program from the RADSCOM diskette (PIN 29725200) (supplied with AVA) on C-
Drive. On the PC execute the program RCOM. Create a subdirectory within the director C. called
aircraft. EX: C:\RADSCOM\AIRCRAFT. Then copy the disc labeled INITCAL to that new
subdirectory.
(c)
Reboot the CADU by pressing the OFF key. Turn the CADU back on by pressing the ON key while
pressing and holding the HELP key. The following message will display for a few seconds:

When the above message goes away, the start-Up Selection Menu will appear (refer to figure 2-3).
