TM 1-6625-736-13&P (b) Test the infrared light (1) Ensure DAU power is OFF.  Connect the UTD to the DAU. (2) Disconnect UTD cable from Electronic Test Set and reconnect to UTD. WARNING The UTD infrared light gets extremely hot with prolonged use.  Personal injury and lamp bum out can occur if the lamp 18 left on too long a time.  Limit continuous lamp operation to 60 seconds or less. (3) Turn  DAU  power  ON.    Position  TRACKER  MODE  test  switch  to  TEST.    Ensure  the  infrared  lamp illuminates.    If  the  lamp  fails  to  work  refer  to  TM  1-6625-724-13&P  for  repair  or  troubleshooting procedures.  Turn the TRACKER MODE switch to  DAY mode, turn DAU power  OFF and allow the lamp to cool for a few seconds before proceeding. (c) Ensure the UTD registers a measurement. NOTE Failure to position the UTD properly on the Electronic Test Set will result in a measurement error.  No data will be taken and can lead to erroneous conclusions.  If no data is obtained during the test, dean the UTD dear lens with a lint free cloth, reposition the UTD on the test set, hold in place and retest. (1) Position  the  UTD  on  the  Electronic  Test  Set  so  the  lens  assembly  on  the  UTD  sits  into  the  lens assembly of the test set.  Make sure the direction of rotation arrow on the UTD matches the direction of rotation arrow on the Electronic Test Set. (2) Position the TRACKER MODE selection switch to NIGHT. (3) On the Electronic Test Set, position the ACTIVE/PASSIVE switch to ACTIVE. (4) Select Flight Plan and press DO.  Select CAL and press  DO.  Next select OPRCHK and press  DO. Then press F1. NOTE For instructions on how to take a measurement using the CADU refer to TM 1-6625-724-13&P. 2-14  Change 1
