OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
SECTION I - DESCRIPTION AND USE OF OPERATOR CONTROLS AND INDICATORS
2-1 GENERAL
2-1
This chapter contains instructions for unpacking and using the Electronic Test Set. Preventive maintenance checks
and services are included. Also included are descriptions of operator's controls and indicators, operating procedures
and unit calibration procedures.
2-2 PRE-OPERATION PROCEDURES
2-2
CAUTION
Handle the test set with care as the electronic circuitry it incorporates can be damaged by shock
from improper handling.
2-3 CONNECTIONS, SWITCHES AND INDICATOR LIGHTS
2-3
a.
General. This section describes the various connections, switches and indicator lights and furnishes the operator
with sufficient information to operate the unit.
b.
Connections (figure 2-1). Connections on the rear panel of the unit will cause the appropriate LEDs to illuminate
indicating those systems connected and working. These connections perform the following functions:
(1)
ACC 1-4
These connections facilitate the testing of the accelerometer cables for functionality. They are connected
to the simulated accelerometers inside the unit and to the appropriate connection on the DAU front panel.
(2)
UTD/EPT
This connection is provided for the UTD cable.
(3)
MAG SEN
This connection interfaces to a magnetic interrupt cable to provide the channel 1 TACHO input to the DAU
"TACH" connector.
(4)
TRKR 1, 2
Provides the test outputs for synchronizing an oscilloscope to the tracker signals.
(5)
TACH 1,2
These connections allow synchronization to the tachometer outputs.
