MOTION CONTROL

Note

1. All Motion Controls are push-ON

pushbutton switches. When the switch

indicator is lit, the function is enabled

(ON).

2. A test jack under each indicator is

provided to monitor its corresponding

function with the following exceptions:

Test Jack under RUN FORWARD switch

is used to monitor Forward/Reverse

commands. Test jack under RUN

REVERSE switch is used to monitor

Run/Stop commands. SIG GND test jack

located under STOP switch is used as

return for all Motion Control and Status

SELECT 1

Selects address of transport under test. The

through

transport address select switch must be set to the

SELECT 4

same number selected on the Exerciser.

REWIND

Enables the transport REWIND operation. The

indicator will be extinguished when the transport

responds with a BOT status. The transport cannot

be stopped until Beginning-Of-Tape (BOT) is

reached. Transport will stop and BOT status

indicator will light.

FAST

Enables the transport

FAST tape motion in the

commanded direction,

when combined with the

RUN FORWARD or

RUN REVERSE motion

switches. The FAST

command excludes the

WRITE operation.

RUN REVERSE

Commands REVERSE tape motion in the

transport. The read circuits are enabled with

motion. The WRITE indicator will be turned off by a

reverse motion command. FAST tape motion may

be combined with RUN REVERSE.
